Microsoft wants it to be known that although casual gamers are the targeted interest for Microsoft’s hands-free controller experience, hardcore gamers are still on the list. In a recent interview, a Microsoft representative talked to GamesIndustry.biz about who will actually be buying Kinect when it launches later this year.

“Certainly over the launch phase and this Christmas in particular I think you’ll see very much pure Kinect for 360 experiences that will appeal to broad young/older/female/family audiences,” Explained Lewis(MS Rep)
Lewis went on to reassure core gamers that they have not been left out and Microsoft is fully aware of the amount of core gamers out there, as is apparent with this year’s Comic-Con heavily featuring Halo: Reach, Gears of War 3 and Fable III. Microsoft looks to first pick-up the casual gamer market then later turn it’s sights on core gamers.
